6th France–Brazil Congress on Natural Products

               On behalf of the Franco–Brazilian Network on Natural Products (FB2NP), La Rochelle Université and Paris Cité Université, the organizing and scientific committees are delighted to announce the 6th France–Brazil Congress on Natural Products, which will take place from June 8th to 11th, 2026, on the beautiful Île de Ré, France.

This international event will bring together around 100 participants, including leading scientists, emerging researchers, and students from France, Brazil, and other countries. It will provide a unique opportunity to strengthen the long-standing scientific cooperation between the two nations and to promote new interdisciplinary collaborations in the field of natural products chemistry and biotechnology applied to health, cosmetics, environment, and sustainable development.

The congress will feature keynote lectures and young researchers oral communications, offering a comprehensive scientific program highlighting the latest advances in natural product research. Social activities and networking sessions will complement the scientific exchanges, creating a friendly and collaborative atmosphere in the exceptional setting of the Atlantic coast.

During four days, participants will share ideas and discuss innovative scientific topics related to the following research areas:

  1. Discovery, purification, and structural elucidation of natural products

  2. Green synthesis and biotransformation of bioactive compounds

  3. Pharmacological and toxicological evaluation of natural products

  4. Metabolomics, genomics, and systems biology approaches

  5. Marine and terrestrial biodiversity valorization

  6. Plant and microbial biotechnology for sustainable production

  7. Eco-responsible extraction and formulation processes

  8. Natural products for antimicrobial, anticancer, and dermocosmetic applications

  9. Chemotaxonomy and phylogenetic approaches

  10. Bioinspired materials and biomolecules

 

The 6th France–Brazil Congress on Natural Products (FB2NP 2026) aims to foster excellence in research, education, and innovation through cross-cultural scientific exchange and shared commitment to biodiversity-based solutions for global challenges.

The congress is supported by the French Society of Pharmacognosy (Société Française de Pharmacognosie) and the Brazilian Society of Pharmacognosy (Sociedade Brasileira de Farmacognosia). A special issue of the Brazilian Journal of Pharmacognosy (Revista Brasileira de Farmacognosia) will be dedicated to publishing the proceedings of the congress.
